NBA rumors: Warriors don't sign any players during transaction window – Yahoo Sports

Despite the fact that the Warriors won’t play again until December at the earliest, they had a chance to sign a player to their roster if they wanted to.

The team stood pat.

The Athletic’s Anthony Slater reported Tuesday that the Warriors decided to let the NBA’s one-week transaction window close without signing anyone.

The Warriors had the ability to sign one player, either for the rest of the 2019-20 season, or to a multi-year contract at the prorated value of the non-taxpayer mid-level exception, which equated to $1,219,837.

But with no games to be played for at least five months, it didn’t make much sense for the Warriors to take on more salary.

<p class="canvas-atom canvas-text Mb(1.0em) Mb(0)–sm Mt(0.8em)–sm" type="text" content="While the Warriors didn't make a move over the last seven days, they will be busy in the offseason. They will also be able to add a player with the mid-level exception.” data-reactid=”24″>While the Warriors didn’t make a move over the last seven days, they will be busy in the offseason. They possess a valuable $17.2 million trade exception from the Andre Iguodala deal last summer, as well as a top-5 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. They will also be able to add a player with the mid-level exception.

So the Warriors should look a little different when they take the court on opening night next season even if they look the same on July 1.
