Jared McCann will have a hearing with NHL Department of Player Safety on Saturday.
The Pittsburgh Penguins forward is facing discipline for elbowing Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim on Friday.
The incident occurred in the Flyers zone at 14:32 of the second period during Philadelphia’s 5-2 win at Wells Fargo Center. McCann received a two-minute penalty for elbowing at 14:40. Sanheim remained in the game.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: elbowing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
