When the dust cleared early in the free agency period this past July, I looked at each NHL team and assigned them a grade. The grades were not necessarily on free agents signed or points they were projected to accumulate in the coming season, but on where the team was at in its respective developmental curve. Was it ready to approach the 2019-20 season with legitimate Stanley Cup aspirations?
