With a banged-up and inexperienced blue line, the Boston Bruins are still scouring the NHL trade market for a top 4 left-shot defenseman but they’re not the only ones. The Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings are reportedly targeting some of the same defensemen the Bruins have on their trade board.
Meanwhile, that depleted blue line and the rest of the Bruins answered the bell and put a halt to their recent losing streak and hopefully the two-week slump they were in.
With the Columbus Blue Jackets slumping, is John Tortorella worried he’ll end up like Claude Julien?
That and more in the BHN Daily:
It’s been well documented here and in various other reports that the Boston Bruins would still love to find a Top 4 left-shot defenseman on the NHL Trade market. Back in November, my partner in crime Joe Haggerty reported that Bruins GM Don Sweeney was dangling rookie defenseman and 2017 first round pick Urho Vaakanainen to acquire help on the blue line or a top 6 winger. Well, it appears that Vaakanainen’s recent call-up wasn’t just due to injury. Could the 18th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft be on the move before the April 8 NHL Trade deadline?
In the latest ‘Off The Record’, I discuss how the Los Angeles Kings could be the Bruins’ stiffest competition when it comes to acquiring that top 4 left-shot defenseman and how Bruins hall of fame goalie Gerry Cheevers nailed it when critiquing the game of Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price.
